CLICK, CLACK, MOO Cows That Type By Doreen Cronin

Farmer Brown has a problem. His cows like to type. All day long he hears
Click, clack, moo. Click, clack, moo. Clickety, clack, moo.
At first he couldn’t believe his ears. Cows that type? Impossible!
Click, clack, moo. Click, clack, moo. Clickety, clack, moo.
Then, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

Cows: Dear Farmer Brown,
The barn is very cold at night.
We’d like some electric blankets.
The Cows

It was bad enough the cows had found the old typewriter in the barn, now they wanted electric blankets!
“No way! No electric blankets.”, said Farmer Brown. So the cows went on strike. They left a note on the barn door.

Cows: Sorry. We’re closed. No milk today.
“No milk today!”,cried Farmer Brown. In the background, he heard the cows busy at work.

Click, clack, moo. Click, clack, moo. Clickety, clack, moo.
The next day, he got another note:

Cows: Dear Farmer Brown,
The hens are cold too.
They’d like electric blankets.
The Cows

The cows were growing impatient with the farmer. They left a new note on the barn door.

Closed. No milk. No eggs.
“No eggs!”, cried Farmer Brown. In the background he heard them.
Click, clack, moo. Click, clack, moo. Clickety, clack, moo.

“Cows that type. Hens on strike! Whoever heard of such a thing? How can I run a farm with no milk and no eggs!”
Farmer Brown was furious. Farmer Brown got out his own typewriter.

Dear Cows and Hens:
There will be no electric blankets.
You are cows and hens.
I demand milk and eggs.
Farmer Brown

Duck was a neutral party, so he brought the ultimatum to the cows.
The cows held an emergency meeting. All the animals gathered around the barn to snoop, but none of them could understand Moo.
All night long, Farmer Brown waited for an answer.
Duck knocked on the door early the next morning. He handed Farmer Brown a note:

Dear Farmer Brown,
We will exchange our typewriter for electric blankets. Leave them outside
the barn door and we will send Duck over with the typewriter.
The Cows

Farmer Brown decided this was a good deal.
He left the blankets next to the barn door and waited for Duck to come with the typewriter.
The next morning he got a note:
Dear Farmer Brown,
The pond is quite boring. We’d like a diving board.

Meet Teacher Dominique!

Recently, teacher Dominque won the Landi Highest Achiever Award. She shared her teaching experience with us:

Hi, I’m Dominique, one of the teachers here at Landi Subject English.
I’m so proud to be one of the top-ranking teachers here at Landi. All of the Landi staff and teachers are really dedicated to you and the students and working with them all has been such a lovely experience. I am really lucky that everyday I have the opportunity to teach such wonderful students who work really hard to improve their English and who made every single lesson so much fun. Thank you for leaving all your wonderful comments, carrying on working really well, and I hope I see you very soon in one of my lessons. Also, don’t forget to do your homework.

Landi Subject English is actively seeking dedicated and professional teachers. If you have an out-going personality and a passion for teaching young children please go to:

Meet Teacher Elizabeth Forbes!

Teacher Elizabeth is an experienced ESL teacher who’s living in Canada. Check out the video above for teacher Elizabeth’s tips and advice!

Teaching at Landi is great because the class sizes are smaller, so our students receive more individual attention. As well the curriculum and the software is user-friendly, so it makes learning fun.

I’ve been able to help students progress by encouraging them to take more talk time and to help them overcome their fear of making mistakes. I like to take time out to listen to my students because it helps them see that learning languages can mean broadening their horizon and making new friends.

I love teaching because it’s a joy to see people overcome their timdiity and express themselves freely in a new language. Especially I love teaching children because we can help them see that learning is fun and that they’ll learn more through participatory learning.

Meet Teacher Taylor Smith!

Landi teacher Taylor Smith loves playing guitar and he’s been using music in his class. Let’s see what he says about his class:

Hello, my name is Taylor Smith and I’m from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, all the way in the United States of America. I’ve been teaching with Landi Subject English for nearly 3 months and have taught over 400 lessons with wonderful kids all over China.

I love to help kids with their pronunciation and help them learn their grammar. I often use TPR hand gestures and pictures to teach my lessons, but sometimes students need something a little more, which is why I like to use music.

A guitar can do one of three things. It can help a student focus who’s been distracted; it can cheer up a student who’s been upset and it can also help a student learn their English by improving their memory, improving their pronunciation and helping them learn rhythm and tone.

I’ve used my guitar on multiple occasions and it’s always worked. One time I had a student who had trouble saying the phrase ‘Carlos and his teacher talk’. I had him reapeat after me three or four times but he still had trouble, so I pulled out my guitar and I asked him to sing along with me. I sang ‘Carlos and his teacher talk.’. He sang along with me and it worked.

Research has shown that music decreases stress, it improves memory and it increases concentration. I’ve seen with all of my students that it always makes them smile.

Good News From Landi!

Recently, the 2017 Sina Five-star Golden Teacher awards ceremony was held in Beijing. As a leading online English teaching brand for kids, Landi Subject English was invited to attend the ceremony. Landi Subject English won the Sina Five-Star Golden Foreign Language Education Institution award with its most advanced “peer study” education concept and its leading position in the online education industry. Meanwhile, two Landi teachers, Chad Daltrey and Elizabeth Semenoff Grenon, won the Sina Five-Star Golden Foreign Teacher Award and the Sina Five-Star Golden Teacher • Overseas Talented Teacher Award.

The award is jointly organized by Sina and Youxue education. From an objective and authoritative perspective, the organizers comprehensively evaluates the teaching quality of education institutions and the teaching level of teachers. Landi’s award is derived from its deeply polished teaching products and rigorous screening of excellent teachers. In addition, other famous enterprises such as New Oriental Enterprise and EF have also won awards.

On the day of the awards ceremony, education experts and brand leaders discussed the topic of “With the help of technology and capital, how can K12 education enterprises break through in the red sea” and interpreted industry policy trends. Besides, they also exchanged each other’s successful experience.

Li jing, CEO of Landi Subject English, believes that with the K12 education industry entering the red sea era, the way for the company to break through in the fierce competition is to return to education essence, polish education products and to improve teaching quality.

To achieve win-win relationship with the capital, Landi Subject English tends to reach a consensus with the investors and focus on polishing products and improving the quality of education. Without the foundation of teaching quality and product polishing, the company would get into a vicious cycle of using advertisement to attract attention and to maintain the operation.

With the development of artificial intelligence technology, there is considerable discussion about whether the artificial intelligence is auxiliary or replacement for education. Li Jing believes that artificial intelligence education is an assistant rather than an opponent for teachers. Artificial intelligence may not replace teachers completely, but can help teachers to complete part of mechanical work , leaving teachers more time for personalized education.

An artificial intelligence assistant is being developed in Landi Subject English. It evaluates the students level and then allocate them into different one-on-many classes. According to the concept of “peer study” which is introduced by Landi, the learning effect would be improved with the same level children studying together, instructing each other and competing with each other. With more than 300 classroom activities independently developed by Landi Subject English, the one-on-many small class model can carry out more abundant classroom activities and fully stimulate the children’s learning interest.

Since its launch in 2011, the Sina Five-star Golden Teacher awards ceremony has been successfully held six times and has established a great brand image and good credibility in the education industry and netizens. In 2017, the Sina Five-star Golden Teacher awards ceremony attracted the participation of many well-known education brands, such as Landi Subject English, Youdao Test God, EF Education First and Tedu Education, etc.
